Dual Token System
Samurai VS game concept has two tokens — RYO and CLC. But why did we choose this dual token system, and how does it benefit you, our ecosystem participants? Let’s take a look at the mechanics & find out!
Back to Basics — Dual Token System in History
Before we embark on the particular Samurai VS dual token system journey, it’s imperative we fully grasp what a dual token system is. Best place to start? History, of course! The Dual Token Model was first introduced by the well-known Axie Infinity game, which chose to split its tokens into the AXS governance token and the in-game SLP token. In this case, AXS served as a token with fixed demand, used to accumulate value over time, whereas SLP’s job was to be a token of limitless emission, which only served the in-game economy — available for minting and burning upon the situation.
Dual Token System Benefits
The obvious benefit of the Dual Token Model is that it allows to separate speculation from the in-game economy. This way, the governance token can be used to make money in the market via investment or speculation, and gamers will not suffer from the rise or fall of in-game asset prices that may stem from it.
It also makes things more worth it for the investors. After all, they want a fixed supply token that they can put their funds in and see them grow over time.
An in-game token’s mission, on the other hand, is to be useful to players, so it must have the flexibility required to introduce new mechanics and keep up the token’s price to a level that ensures players can earn from it. The in-game token’s issuance, burning, and utility can change depending on gamer needs during the course of the game’s life.
